How many of us can say that we’ve accidentally stumbled into our dream careers? As luck would have it, Lauren Granger did just that.
After having her first daughter in 2015, Lauren and her husband decided to look for a larger home to accommodate their growing family. After purchasing her dream home, a historic fixer-upper built in 1902, she got to work contacting contractors and interior designers to begin the renovation process. However, there was just one small problem. Everyone she contacted had a lengthy waitlist.
Lauren was quickly running out of options. So, she decided to roll up her sleeves and make the renovations herself. After about a year of work, her home was complete, and Lauren had discovered her passion for interior design.
Her partnership with Horizons didn’t start for a while after her interior design company, Lauren Granger Design, LLC. In the beginning, Lauren did a few bathroom renovations, spaces that didn’t have windows. As she moved onto larger projects such as, living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens, Lauren turned to Horizons for help with creating custom window treatments.
With a wide range of styles, colors and textures, clients can find the perfect match for their space, no matter what their design theme might be. Designers can even utilize Horizon’s Customer’s Own Material (C.O.M.) program to have treatments made in almost any material they can find.
“I love working with older homes and making them more modern in functionality.”
There is a charming mix of vintage and modern in Lauren’s designs. She updates interiors in a way that allows you to see the “old bones and soul” of the home while still showcasing a client’s personal style. Not shy with color, many of Lauren’s designs feature modern elements in rich jewel tones or accent walls that add the perfect pop of color.
“I love the convenience of Horizons Cordless One Controls with the cord on the back of the shade. They’re easy to operate and they have a clean finish.”
When increasing the amount of color and décor within a room, Lauren likes to keep other aspects like window treatments more neutral. She enjoys Horizons Natural Shades because they come in a variety of textures and colors that don’t distract from other design elements but still look elegant and are very functional.
